I have left LinkedIn on the 6th of April 2026.
For me, this is not a practical decision, but a principled one. LinkedIn is part of a US-based big tech ecosystem I no longer feel comfortable being part of. This is tied to the broader role of the United States in the world which is going on for years now, recently including the war in the Middle East and the upcoming political neofascist direction that enables this—reinforced by figures like Donald Trump and friends.
If I were to stay active on LinkedIn, it would feel hypocritical: being critical on the one hand, while continuing to participate in the very system I question on the other. That contradiction is something I no longer want to ignore.
So I was asking myself that question very deliberately. And perhaps it’s a question you may want to ask yourself too: am I being hypocritical here as well?
No judgment—but an honest question.
